Budget & costs
How much does a wedding in Barcelona cost?
There is no single answer, but there is an honest one. This guide uses only the figures the Barcelona-region venues in our collection have actually given us — hire prices, catering per head, bedroom counts, minimum stays — so you can see where the money goes before you send a single enquiry.
The short answer
We hold 24 wedding venues in the Barcelona region. Their published starting prices run from €3,000 to €28,000. Where a venue quotes catering separately, the per-head figures run from €90 to €163, with drinks from €18 to €80 a person on top.
Those two spreads are wide because they are not measuring the same thing. A €3,000 quote and a €28,000 quote can describe the same guest count on the same weekend. What separates them is how much of the wedding is already inside the number.
Four things move the number
Read enough Catalan venue quotes and the same four variables do nearly all the work: what the hire fee already includes, the per-head cost of feeding and watering everyone, how many nights you are obliged to take, and whether your guests sleep on site or pay for hotels. Capacity matters less than couples expect. Almost every venue here can hold a normal guest list; the question is what it costs to seat them.
What hire actually buys, from €3,000 upwards
At the bottom of the range you are renting space and little else. Cortal Gran, a 15th-century fortified castle standing alone in 125 hectares of apple orchards, starts at €3,000 across weekdays and some Saturdays from April to November, and rises to €6,500 for Saturdays in June, July and September. That is the venue's own rate card, and it is the clearest illustration in our collection of what a date is worth. There is no accommodation at the castle; hotels and rural houses sit less than 1km away. Masia Colina, a private estate inside the city of Tarragona, is simply €3,400 a day, with a bridal suite that sleeps two and partner hotels around five minutes away.
Slightly above that, the fee starts absorbing things you would otherwise buy. Masia Font de la Reina opens at €3,000 plus VAT for a Friday-to-Sunday stay, and that rate carries two nights for up to 25 guests with breakfast plus private use of the estate for all three days; extra nights are €800 plus VAT. Castell d’Enfesta starts at €4,500 and includes staffing, cleaning, standard decoration and lighting, a bridal suite and a night in the castle for the couple.
At the top, the number stops being a hire fee at all. Hotel Castell d’Emporda starts at €25,000, but that covers 25 double rooms for two nights with breakfast, ceremony setup, welcome cava, canapés and a three-course dinner with drinks. Finca La Concertista starts at €25,300 for a three-night stay for 20 with food and drink included. Alcazar Del Garraf starts at €28,000, and the house alone is €7,000 a night with a four-night minimum. Compare these against a €3,000 day rate and you are not comparing venues; you are comparing scopes.
Catering is the line that scales with your guest list
Twelve of our Barcelona venues publish a catering figure per person. Finca La Batllia in the Pre-Pyrenees is the lowest at €90. Cortal Gran is €105 with drinks from €21. Masia Victoria and Casa Nova Estate both quote €110 with drinks at €75. Castell d’Enfesta is €119, Masia Cabellut €120, Masia Font de la Reina €122, El Serral €140 with drinks from €25, Masia Colina €145, Villa Almanita €160, and This Must Be The Place €163 with drinks at €23.
The order of that list is not a quality ranking. Masia Colina's €145 is a complete proposal including setup, menu, drinks, service staff and two hours of open bar. El Serral's €140 sits alongside a separate drinks package. Finca La Batllia's €90 has drinks at €50 behind it. Before you compare two per-head numbers, make each venue tell you what is inside its own.
Two venues remove the arithmetic entirely. Torre Sever quotes €11,600 all-in, built on €145 per head for 80 guests, and that already covers exclusive rental, the menu, a DJ, sound and lighting, two hours of open bar, furniture, stationery and full coordination. Mas de Sant Lleí starts at €10,500 for up to 70 guests with catering, a two-hour open bar and a mojito buffet at the dance included. If you want one number to plan against rather than six, this is the shape to ask for.
Whether your guests sleep on site
This is the budget line couples most often leave out, and it can be the largest one after catering. Nineteen of our 24 Barcelona venues sleep a wedding party on site. The range is enormous. This Must Be The Place sleeps 12 across four ensuite rooms. Masia Can Ramonet sleeps 40 across 15 bedrooms in three separate houses. Villa Almanita sleeps 52, with 24 bedrooms in the main house. La Farinera Sant Lluís sleeps 64 — 24 in the mill building and another 40 in the cottage houses. Hotel Castell d’Emporda tops the list at 130, because exclusive use brings all 57 suites, so nobody travels after the party.
Three venues — Cortal Gran, Mas de Sant Lleí and Torre Sever — hold no bedrooms and place guests nearby instead. That is not a fault; it is a different budget. Torre Sever puts guests in rural houses and small hotels ten minutes away, and Cortal Gran's village accommodation is under a kilometre off. But those beds are paid for by somebody, and it is usually your guests.
Capacity, and the trap inside it
Maximum capacity across the region runs from 40 at Mas Huix to 700 at Mas de Sant Lleí. Most couples never approach either end, and headline capacity is the least useful filter on a venue list.
The number worth checking is the minimum. Mas de Sant Lleí will hold 700 but asks for at least 70. Hotel Castell d’Emporda runs ceremonies and receptions from 50 to 200. Finca La Batllia works between 40 and 130. If your list is 45 people, a venue with a 70-guest floor is quietly charging you for 25 absent friends.
Watch, too, for venues where the day capacity and the sleeping capacity are far apart. Can Riera de la Pineda takes up to 350 guests, but sleeps 18 — and its €9,500 starting price covers two nights for those 18, use of the venue for up to 100 guests on the day, and a three-hour open bar. A 200-guest wedding there is a different conversation and a different price.
Exclusive use, curfews and the cost of the late hours
All 24 venues we hold in the region are let on full exclusivity, so that is not a differentiator here — it is the baseline. What genuinely differs is how late you may run.
Eight carry no curfew at all: Can Riera de la Pineda, El Serral, Finca La Batllia, Mas de Sant Lleí, Masia Cabellut, Casa Nova Estate, This Must Be The Place and Villa Almanita. Seven state no music curfew specifically, including Mas Torroella and Masia Font de la Reina. In every case the reason is the same — distance from neighbours. Masia Cabellut sits in 30 hectares of private valley; Finca La Batllia has 178 hectares and no other properties nearby.
The budget consequence is real. A venue that stops at midnight pushes the rest of the night somewhere else, with transport and a second bar attached. A venue with no curfew keeps the whole wedding on one site and one invoice.
Minimum stay: the multiplier nobody quotes
Only two venues here will take a single night: Hotel Castell d’Emporda and Masia Colina. Eleven ask for two nights, five ask for three, and Alcazar Del Garraf and Mas Huix both ask for four. Four more quote a day rate with no stay attached at all.
A minimum stay is not a surcharge — it is usually the best value in the quote, because it turns one afternoon into a weekend your guests remember. But it does mean the entry price of a three-night venue is structurally higher than a day-rate venue, and comparing the two head-to-head will mislead you. Mas del Sord rents the entire property Friday to Sunday from €8,000, accommodation for 30 included. Mas Huix asks for four nights and takes 40 guests. Neither is expensive; both are simply sold by the weekend.
Three shapes a Barcelona wedding takes
Everyone under one roof, 40 to 70 guests
Mas Huix, an 11th-century farmhouse half an hour from Girona airport, holds up to 40 for the celebration, sleeps 28, has a chapel seating 25 and charges no kitchen fees or supplier exclusivity — bring whoever you want. Masia Victoria takes up to 70, sleeps 28 across 14 ensuite bedrooms, and starts at €14,550 for three nights of hire and accommodation, with catering from €110 and drinks from €75.
A weekend for around 100
Masia Can Ramonet starts at €5,000 for weddings of up to 100 guests, including two nights for 30 people, and sits 20km from Barcelona Airport, ten minutes from Sitges and 5km from the sea. Mas Terrats takes 100, sleeps 21 and opens at €5,200 in low season — January, February, March, November and December. Mas del Sord takes 100 and sleeps 30. All three are exclusive-use estates where the whole weekend is the product.
A large day close to the city
Mas de Sant Lleí, a 12th-century estate across more than 40 hectares, is 43km from Barcelona Airport and around fifteen minutes from the city, holds up to 700, permits fireworks and has no curfew of any kind. Masia Colina holds 300 inside Tarragona itself, with hotels on the doorstep. Cortal Gran holds 300 in its orchards. For a large, city-adjacent wedding these are the three to price against each other.
Where the money genuinely goes further
The date. Cortal Gran publishes the difference plainly: €3,000 on a weekday or some Saturdays, €6,500 for a peak Saturday. Mas Terrats names its low season outright. Moving one square on the calendar is the single largest saving available to you, and it costs your wedding nothing.
Choosing your own suppliers. Finca La Batllia lets you pick your caterer, DJ, florist, photographer and planner, and will recommend people if you want them. Mas Huix charges no kitchen fee and imposes no supplier exclusivity. El Serral, Masia Colina, Masia Victoria and Villa Almanita all take no corkage, which on a long Catalan evening is not a small line.
Distance, honestly weighed. Masia Can Ramonet is 20km from Barcelona Airport; Mas del Sord is 98km; Mas Bosc is 90km. Further out generally buys more land and more quiet for the same money, but it adds guest transport and it shortens the day. Decide which one you are actually buying.
When you are ready to compare properties side by side, the full collection of Barcelona wedding venues lists every figure quoted above against the venue it came from, and our wider Spanish venue directory covers the rest of the country.
Common questions
How much does it cost to hire a wedding venue near Barcelona?
Across the 24 Barcelona-region venues we list, published starting prices run from €3,000 to €28,000. The low end is a day rate or a weekend rate with little else attached — Cortal Gran opens at €3,000, Masia Colina charges €3,400 a day. The high end is not a more expensive room; it is a package that already contains several nights of accommodation, and sometimes the food and drink as well.
What is catering per person in Catalonia?
Of the venues that publish a per-head figure, the range runs from €90 at Finca La Batllia to €163 at This Must Be The Place. Drinks are usually quoted separately, from €18 per person at Hotel Castell d’Emporda to €80 at Masia Cabellut. Read carefully: some per-head prices include a bar and some do not.
Can our guests stay at the venue?
At nineteen of the 24, yes. On-site sleeping capacity runs from 12 at This Must Be The Place to 130 at Hotel Castell d’Emporda, where exclusive use brings all 57 suites. Three venues — Cortal Gran, Mas de Sant Lleí and Torre Sever — hold no bedrooms at all and put guests in nearby hotels.
Is there a curfew on music at Catalan wedding venues?
It depends entirely on the property, and it is worth asking early. Eight of the venues we list in the region carry no curfew at all, and seven state no music curfew specifically. Can Riera de la Pineda, Masia Cabellut, Casa Nova Estate, Villa Almanita and Mas de Sant Lleí all sit in that group.
What is the minimum stay at a Barcelona wedding venue?
Two of the 24 will take a single night: Hotel Castell d’Emporda and Masia Colina. Eleven ask for two nights, five ask for three, and Alcazar Del Garraf and Mas Huix both ask for four. Four venues quote a day rate with no stay attached.
