How much does a wedding at Masia Colina cost?
Masia Colina is a private estate inside the city of Tarragona that prices its weddings by the day: €3,400 for the venue, then a complete catering proposal from €145 a head that already carries the drinks, the staff and two hours of open bar. There are no nights to pay for and only a bridal suite to sleep in. This guide works the two figures through at three guest counts, explains what the hire buys, and compares the estate with four other Catalan venues that price a day rather than a stay.

A day rate, which changes everything
Most of the Catalan estates in this collection sell a stay: two or three nights, a house full of beds, a wedding in the middle. Masia Colina sells a day. The venue's published figure is a daily hire of €3,400, and the record's note on it is a single sentence saying exactly that. There is a bridal suite that sleeps two and a minimum stay of one night, but the guests go to hotels, and the venue says its trusted partner hotels are about five minutes away.
The consequence for the budget is that the hire is a small, fixed line and the food is nearly everything. That suits a couple who want to spend on the table rather than on the roof, and it suits a list that would not fit in any Catalan villa anyway: the estate takes from 20 to 300 guests for both the ceremony and the reception, which is among the largest capacities in the region.
What €145 a head buys
The record describes the catering as complete food and service proposals from some of the best catering teams in the area, starting at €145 per person, and lists what that includes: setup, the menu, drinks, service staff, two hours of open bar and everything needed for the gastronomic side of the day. Each proposal is adjusted to the number of guests, the style of wedding and the couple's own wishes. There is no in-house kitchen; the venue works with recommended caterers and the quote comes from them through the venue.
Two further details in the record shape the drinks bill. The first is that the two hours of open bar are inside the per-head figure, so a drinks line only begins when the bar runs beyond them. The second is that there is no corkage charge on anything you bring in yourself, which at 300 guests is a real sum if you want to supply your own wine or a particular spirit for the dancing.
The hire and the catering at three guest counts
Because the catering proposal already carries the drinks for the first two hours, adding the published per-head figure to the daily hire gets closer to a real floor at Masia Colina than it does at venues where drinks are a third line. The table below does that sum at a mid-sized wedding, a large one and the maximum. It leaves out the bar after two hours, suppliers, transport and the guests' hotels.
Notice how flat the per-guest cost is. Because the hire is small, the total is almost a straight multiple of the guest count, and the venue is no more or less efficient at 80 guests than at 300. That is the opposite of the three-night estates near Sitges, where a small list pays dearly for the beds, and it is why a day-hire estate is often the right answer for a couple whose list is uncertain. The budget calculator will build the rest of the total around a floor like this.
Four settings for one day
The record describes the day moving through four spaces. The Ceremony Terrace is the dedicated ceremony setting, with vows taken under the trees. The stone courtyard takes the drinks and the first hour of the evening. The Grand Pavilion is the light-filled indoor room for the dinner, which is also the wet-weather plan without a marquee. Green Vita is the fourth, for the later part of the night. Moving 300 people through four rooms on one estate without a coach is the logistical argument for the venue, and the record makes it in its own words: space, atmosphere and easy logistics.
Masia Colina is not listed as licensed for marriage. In practice that matters less than it sounds for a foreign couple, because most non-residents cannot hold the binding civil ceremony in Spain in any case and choose a symbolic ceremony on the terrace with the legal formalities done at home. Our guide to getting married in Spain sets out the routes and who is eligible for each.
Hotels five minutes away, and a helipad
The sleeping plan here is simple because the venue makes it so: the couple in the bridal suite, everyone else in Tarragona's hotels, with the venue's partner hotels about five minutes from the gate. For a list of 200 or 300 that is a better plan than any villa can offer, since no villa in the region sleeps that many and the overflow would end up in hotels regardless. The venue keeps a hotel recommendation list and a supplier list, and is child friendly and welcomes pets. It also has a helipad, which is a rarer line on a Catalan estate's feature list than a swimming pool.
By straight line the nearest airport is Reus (REU), about 6 km from the estate. Barcelona's airport has the wider choice of flights and a longer drive down the coast. Car parking is on site, and because the estate is inside a city, guests without a car have taxis rather than a transfer coach to think about. The days either side can be filled from the venue's list of wine tasting, olive oil tasting, cooking classes, cocktail making and yoga.
Four other Catalan venues priced by the day
The comparisons that make sense for Masia Colina are the Barcelona-region venues that price a day rather than a stay, whether as a hire plus per-head food or as an all-in package. The four below show both models.
Enfesta · Barcelona
Castle of Enfesta | Castell d’Enfestaup to 250 guests · sleeps 2 · from €4,500 · catering €119 a head
Cortal Gran, a castle estate in the Empordà, hires from €3,000 on some weekdays and Saturdays between April and November and rises to €6,500 for a Saturday in June, July or September, with catering from €105 and drinks from €21 a head; it takes 300, the same ceiling as Colina. Castell d'Enfesta is €4,500 with one night for two and the drinks inside, caters from €119 and takes 250. Mas de Sant Lleí is an all-in package from €10,500 with catering and drinks for up to 70 guests and a capacity of 700. Torre Sever is €11,600 all-in, which the venue says is €145 a head for 80 guests, and takes 185. Against the two all-in venues, Colina's model is the more flexible one: the hire is fixed and the food proposal is written around you.
The Barcelona wedding cost guide reads every priced venue in the region with the same method, and venues by budget puts the whole Spanish collection into bands, which is where a €3,400 hire shows how low it sits.
Who Masia Colina is for
This is the estate for a couple with a large list, a short stay and a preference for hotels over house parties: fly into Reus or Barcelona, check in five minutes away, spend the day moving through four settings and the night in a city with restaurants and a sea front. It suits a budget that wants the venue cost low and the food cost honest, and a wedding of anywhere from 20 to 300. It does not suit a couple who want three nights with their friends under one roof or a party that must run until dawn in the open air. The full collection lines each venue's figures up together, and an enquiry through us costs nothing.
Questions couples ask us
What is the venue hire at Masia Colina?
