How much does a wedding at El Serral Hotel cost?
El Serral Hotel is a Catalan farmhouse with 110 years behind it, set on its own vineyard in the Penedès half an hour from Barcelona. Its published starting price is €12,500, and the venue states that the figure carries two nights for 28 guests. Catering is from €140 a head and drinks packages from €25, there is no corkage and no curfew, and up to 250 can come for the day. This page reads each of those figures from the venue's record, works them through at 60, 120 and 250 guests, and puts the estate beside the Sitges-side masías whose price also includes the beds.

A price that begins with the beds
The starting figure for El Serral Hotel is €12,500, and the venue's note says what it is for: a two-night stay for 28 guests. That is the same number of people the estate's 14 double rooms sleep, so the price is best understood as the whole house, full, for a weekend, with the wedding somewhere inside it. Breakfast for everyone staying is included, as is a late check-out, which the record lists alongside the rooms rather than as an add-on.
The hire is exclusive. The record describes the entire estate as reserved for you: gardens, the vineyard, a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a padel court, terraces and several event spaces. The Hangar, a soundproofed indoor room with audiovisual kit and a showcooking kitchen, is named as the wet-weather alternative and is part of the price rather than a contingency you pay for. A bridal changing room, a sound system, car parking and disabled access are all on the features list, and the estate welcomes pets.
What sits on top of €12,500
Food and drink are the two lines the hire does not carry. In-house catering starts at €140 per person, and the venue also lists recommended caterers for couples who want to bring their own. Drinks packages are published from €25 per person. Two features change how those figures behave: there is no corkage charge, so wine you bring is not taxed by the glass, and there is no curfew, so the bar is not cut short by a licence at one in the morning.
For guests beyond the 28 beds, the estate publishes a hotel recommendation list, and Sitges is around 15 minutes away with the hotels to match. A second line to budget for is the stay itself: the record states a minimum of two nights and the price includes two, so the published figure and the minimum line up, but a Thursday arrival or a Monday departure is a third night to price on enquiry.
Hire, food and drink at 60, 120 and 250 guests
The rows below take the €12,500 hire, with its two nights for 28, and add the in-house catering and the drinks package at the venue's own per-head rates. They stop there: no suppliers, no extra nights, no transport from Barcelona, no beds beyond the 28 in the house.
At 60 guests the hire is the largest line and the weekend is the thing you are paying for; by 250 the catering has taken over and the hire is a fraction of the whole. The per-head rate at El Serral is higher than at some neighbours, so the gap widens quickly as the list grows. Run your own numbers through the budget calculator, which adds the lines this table leaves out.
Fourteen rooms, two nights and the days between
The 14 double rooms sleep 28, and the venue's own description of who it suits is a multi-day exclusive-use wedding with the whole party on the estate. For a list of 28 or fewer, that is the entire wedding under one roof for a weekend. For a list of 120, the rooms go to the couple, parents and the wedding party, and everyone else drives the 15 minutes back to Sitges after the last song, which is why the absence of a curfew is worth more here than it sounds.
The experiences the record lists make sense of the second night. Wine tasting on an estate that grows its own grapes, cooking classes, cocktail making, yoga, horse riding, bikes, star gazing, padel on the court and a spa are all named, alongside trekking in the pine forest and even a yacht charter from the coast. The estate is also part of our sustainable collection. For couples who want three or four days rather than one, the guide to three-day wedding weekends in Spain compares estates built for that.
Vows among the vines, and the paperwork
The one ceremony setting the record names is the vineyard itself, with the Penedès hills behind the rows. The day then moves across the property: cocktails beside the pool and dinner looking over the vines, with the Hangar in reserve. El Serral is listed as licensed for marriage, which in Catalonia is the exception rather than the rule. The licence belongs to the venue, though, and most couples who are not resident in Spain are unable to hold the binding civil ceremony here. The common pattern is a symbolic ceremony in the vineyard and the legal formalities at home; our guide to getting married in Spain explains what each nationality can and cannot do.
Thirty minutes from the airport
By straight line the nearest airport is Barcelona (BCN), about 36 km from the estate. The venue puts both Barcelona Airport and the city centre at 30 minutes by road, and the beaches at Sitges at around 15. For a guest list flying in from several countries, that is as short as a Spanish countryside wedding gets: one airport, one motorway, and a resort town with hotels and restaurants a quarter of an hour from the gate. Santa Margarida i els Monjos is cava country, which also gives the welcome drink an obvious answer.
The estate against its neighbours
El Serral is one of several masías on the Sitges side of Barcelona whose published price includes the nights. The four below are priced the same way, and between them they show how differently a venue can split the money between beds, hire and plate.
Masllorenç · Barcelona
Masia Cabellutup to 200 guests · sleeps 14 · 2-night minimum · from €7,000 · catering €120 a head
Sitges · Barcelona
Casa Nova Estateup to 250 guests · sleeps 21 · 3-night minimum · from €12,750 · catering €110 a head
Sant Pere de Ribes · Barcelona
Masia Victoriaup to 70 guests · sleeps 28 · 3-night minimum · from €14,550 · catering €110 a head
Masia Can Ramonet, in Sitges itself, publishes €5,000 with two nights for 30 and takes 200, with food quoted on enquiry, so fewer than half the hire for a similar number of beds. Masia Cabellut, another Penedès vineyard house, is €7,000 with two nights for 14, catering at €120 and drinks at €80, so a cheaper plate and a dearer bar than El Serral. Casa Nova Estate is the closest match on price at €12,750 for three nights, sleeps 21, takes 250 and caters at €110. Masia Victoria is €14,550 with three nights, sleeps 28 like El Serral, but caps the wedding at 70 guests.
The Barcelona wedding cost guide works through every priced venue in the region this way, and venues by budget bands the whole Spanish collection. The guide to venues with accommodation is the list to read if the beds are the deciding factor.
Where El Serral fits
Choose El Serral if you want a vineyard estate within half an hour of Barcelona, a weekend with 28 of your people sleeping on site, a guaranteed indoor room if the weather turns, and a bar that runs as late as you like without corkage. The €140 plate is the figure to be clear-eyed about: it makes the estate a better buy for a list of 60 or 80 than for one near its 250 ceiling, where a venue with a lower per-head rate pulls ahead. If beds for more than 28 matter, Masia Can Ramonet and Casa Nova Estate are the two to read next. The full collection lays the figures side by side, and an enquiry through us simply checks your date with the estate.
