Hotel wedding venues in Spain you can take over
A hotel you can close for a wedding solves the problem a private estate cannot: beds for everyone. 15 of the venues we list in Spain are hotels, from seafront properties that sleep hundreds to boutique houses with a dozen rooms. This guide lists them by how many they sleep, with each one's capacity and published price.

Why hotels are a different purchase
Three things change when the venue is a hotel. The beds are plural and professional: the hotel runs them, you do not. The price is usually a package per head for the wedding dinner, with the drinks and sometimes the planning inside it, rather than a hire fee with the catering on top. And the exclusivity is contractual: 13 of the 15 hotels here state full exclusivity on record, meaning the property closes to other guests for your dates. Ask for which dates exactly; a hotel's season is its revenue, and a takeover in August is a different negotiation from one in May.
By region, Ibiza has 5, Mallorca has 2, Barcelona has 2, Andalusia has 4. Ibiza's hotels are the seafront ones; Barcelona's and Andalusia's are country houses that became hotels; Mallorca's include the one fortress.
The big properties: 80 beds or more
These sleep the whole wedding. The published from-price is usually the dinner package and the exclusivity; the rooms are a block booking on top, which is how a hotel keeps the headline figure lower than an estate's all-in weekend.
La Bisbal d'Empordà · Barcelona
Hotel Castell d’Empordaup to 200 guests · sleeps 130 · 1-night minimum · from €25,000
Toledo · Castilla-La Mancha

The boutique houses: under 80 beds
Country-house hotels, finca-hotels and the odd fortress: a dozen to sixty rooms, closed for the weekend, with the character of a private estate and the staffing of a hotel. For a wedding of 60 to 150 these are often the easiest venues in the collection to run.

What to ask a hotel
Is the takeover total? Every room, every night, or only a block? If other guests can book the remaining rooms, your 2am is their 2am.
What is in the package? Hotels bundle: canapés, the dinner, the wine, sometimes the cake and the open bar for a fixed number of hours. Ask for the menu the price buys and what an hour more of bar costs.
What are the rooms? A hotel room block is priced per room per night, usually at a negotiated rate, and your guests pay for their own. Ask whether the couple's suite and the parents' rooms are inside the package, and what the minimum stay is for the block.
Where is the music allowed, and until when? A hotel with neighbours or a town licence often has tighter hours than a rural estate. The sea-facing terrace may close earlier than the indoor room.
For every hotel here the venue page quotes what the published price covers. The accommodation guide sets them beside the private estates by beds, and the large-wedding guide by guest count.
Questions couples ask us
What is a hotel takeover wedding?
You hire the whole hotel: every room, the restaurant, the pool and the terraces, for two or three nights, so the guest list lives together and nobody else is on the property. In Spain it is the way to get a large wedding with everyone sleeping on site, which the private estates rarely manage above forty beds.
How much does a hotel wedding in Spain cost?
Across the 14 hotels we list that publish a from-price, the figures run from €5,500 to €74,000, with a median of €19,000. 6 state that the price includes the catering and drinks, which is the hotel habit: a package for the wedding dinner rather than a hire fee with everything on top. The room block is usually priced per room on top of that.
How many guests can a Spanish hotel venue sleep?
From a dozen in a boutique finca-hotel to 774 in the largest seafront property we list. 7 of the 15 hotels here sleep 80 or more; the rest are boutique houses where the takeover is the point.
When does a hotel beat a private estate?
When the guest list is large and you want everyone under one roof, when you would rather not run catering, staff and bedrooms yourself, and when the location is a town or the sea rather than the countryside. A private estate wins on exclusivity of feeling, late music and price per night for a smaller party. The two guides to read next are the accommodation guide and the large-wedding guide.
