How much does a wedding at La Farinera Sant Lluís cost?

La Farinera Sant Lluís is a converted flour mill on a lakeside estate in the Empordà, and it publishes its wedding hire from £11,000 in pounds sterling, with full exclusivity, beds for 64 and a two-night minimum inside the figure. Food is not included and is quoted through the estate's recommended caterers. This guide reads the price from the venue's own record, explains who the beds are for, and sets the mill beside the other Catalan estates whose hire carries the nights.

Published 25 October 2026 · Every figure from the venues' own published records

The price, and the currency it is quoted in

The first thing to notice about La Farinera Sant Lluís is that its published figure is in pounds. The estate's from-price is £11,000 for the 2027 to 2028 season, not euros, which tells you something about who the venue expects to book it. If you are budgeting in euros, convert at the rate on the day you enquire rather than relying on any figure on this page, because the record does not state a euro equivalent and we will not invent one.

What the £11,000 buys is set out plainly in the record: exclusivity and privacy of the whole venue, including all the gardens, the natural lakes and the main building of the old mill, with a total sleeping capacity of 24 in that building. On top of the main house sit the cottage houses with their own swimming pool, sleeping a further 40. The record lists accommodation as included and states a minimum stay of two nights, so the figure is a weekend rather than a day.

What is not in the figure

Catering is the big omission. La Farinera lists recommended caterers rather than an in-house kitchen, and it publishes no per-head rate, so the dinner is quoted separately by whichever caterer you choose from the estate's list. The same applies to the bar: the venue has a licensed bar, but there is no drinks figure in the record. For that reason this page has no worked table of totals at different guest counts; we only compute those where the venue states a per-head price. Once you have a quote from a caterer, the budget calculator will add it to the hire and the suppliers for your own list.

Beyond the food and the bar, the hire does not stretch to the photographer, the florist, the music or the transport. The estate provides an on-site planner and a supplier list, and it permits fireworks, which is worth knowing because the lake gives you a reflection most venues cannot offer for them.

Who the 64 beds are for

The sleeping is split into two kinds of building. The main mill house sleeps 24, and that is where the couple, their parents and the wedding party will most likely stay. The cottage houses, with their own pool, sleep 40 more, and they suit groups of friends or families who want their own front door for the weekend. Put together, 64 guests can wake up on the estate, which is a large number for a private venue in this region: the only Barcelona-region estates in our collection that sleep more are hotels.

For a wedding of 100, that means most of the guest list sleeps on site and the rest book in the villages round Pont de Molins or in Figueres, using the venue's hotel recommendation list. For a wedding of 300 or more, the estate is a base for the core of the list and a day venue for everyone else. The record also lists glamping as allowed in the grounds, so a younger guest list can extend the on-site number with tents. Our guide to three-day wedding weekends covers how to fill the days either side when the beds are already paid for.

From a dinner for two to a party for 600

The stated range for both the ceremony and the reception is 2 to 600 guests, which is a spread few venues anywhere in Spain can match. The reason it can stretch so far is that the day is not held in one room. The record describes a historic flour mill for the banquet, exceptional gardens, large terraces and a private pier onto the lake, and the venue's own summary is that the celebration moves through a different space for every part of the day. A wedding of 80 uses the mill and one terrace; a wedding of 400 spreads across all of them.

The estate's style is described as Anglo-Saxon architecture with Empordà furnishings, which is a rarer look than the stone masía most couples picture when they think of Catalonia. If your list is nearer 100 than 600, our guide to venues for 100 guests compares the estates that are most comfortable at that size.

Three ceremony settings and a licence

The record lists three places to hold the ceremony. The first is the secluded private pier over the natural lake, which is the setting the estate is known for. The second is a forest ceremony in the heart of the woodland. The third is the outdoor gardens, with the large terraces alongside for the drinks afterwards. All three are outdoors, so ask the venue about its wet-weather alternative inside the mill when you enquire.

La Farinera is listed as licensed for marriage. Bear in mind what that means in practice: the licence belongs to the venue, and most non-resident foreign couples still cannot hold the legally binding civil ceremony in Spain. The usual route is a symbolic ceremony on the pier with the legal formalities done at home, and our guide to getting married in Spain explains the options and the paperwork for each.

Flying into Spain or France

Pont de Molins sits in the far north of Catalonia, which gives guests an unusual choice. The venue puts Girona Costa Brava Airport at 55 km and Perpignan, across the French border, at 60 km. By straight line the nearest airport in our list is Girona (GRO), about 47 km away. Barcelona's airport is further but serves more routes, and the motorway north from it runs almost to the gate. There is car parking on the estate, and the two airports mean a guest list split between Britain and France can approach from either side.

Other Catalan estates with the nights inside the hire

The four venues below also publish a hire that carries a stay, and each takes a large guest list on the day. The figures are the venues' own, and all four are stated in euros.

Mas Torroella on the Costa Brava is €14,500 with three nights for 30 across the main house and annex cottage, taking up to 200 guests. Can Riera de la Pineda near Arbúcies publishes €9,500 with two nights for 18, a three-hour open bar on the day and capacity for 350, with Girona Airport 38 km away. Masia Can Ramonet near Sitges is €5,000 with two nights for 30 across three houses that sleep 40 in all, for up to 200 guests. Masia Font de la Reina starts at €3,000 plus VAT for a Friday to Sunday stay with two nights for 25, holds up to 300 and caters in-house from €122 a head. None of them sleeps as many as La Farinera's 64, and none has a lake with a pier, which is what the higher figure here pays for.

The Barcelona wedding cost guide reads every priced venue in the region the same way, and venues by budget puts the collection into bands if the hire is the first filter.

Is La Farinera the right choice?

Choose the mill if you want a large wedding with a large house party: a guest list in the hundreds, 64 of them sleeping on site, a weekend rather than a day, and water in the photographs. The two-night minimum and the included beds reward couples who treat the booking as a house for the weekend, and the 600-guest ceiling means the list never has to be trimmed to fit the venue. The lack of an in-house kitchen is a feature rather than a gap for couples who want to choose their own caterer.

It is less obviously the right choice for a small wedding on a tight budget, since the hire is fixed whether 20 or 400 attend, and for couples who want the food inside the price. The full collection shows every venue's figures side by side, and a date enquiry at La Farinera through us costs nothing.

Is La Farinera licensed for a legal wedding?

Yes, the venue is listed as licensed for marriage. The licence attaches to the venue rather than the couple, and most non-resident foreign couples still cannot hold the binding civil ceremony in Spain, so the common route is a symbolic ceremony at the estate with the legal one at home.
