How much does a wedding at Mas del Sord cost?

Mas del Sord is a cluster of Catalan farmhouses turned eco-hotel in a mountain valley of forest and vineyards near La Selva del Camp, and it publishes its wedding hire from €8,000 for exclusive use from Friday to Sunday with a two-night stay for 30 inside the figure. Food is quoted separately. This guide reads the hire from the venue's own record, explains who the beds are for, notes what the record leaves unstated, and compares the property with four Catalan estates priced the same way.

A weekend hire with the beds inside

Mas del Sord publishes a from-price of €8,000 for the 2027 to 2028 season, and the venue's own description of the figure is short: exclusive rental of the entire property from Friday to Sunday, with the accommodation included. The price note on the record puts the stay at two nights for 30 guests, and the features list confirms a two-night minimum. So the number is a weekend rather than a wedding day, and the question of where the wedding party sleeps is answered before you start.

What the hire does not include is the food. Mas del Sord lists recommended caterers and a licensed bar, but no in-house kitchen and no per-head figure, so the dinner is quoted by the caterer you choose and we will not estimate it here. The same goes for the drinks. Everything beyond the property and the beds, from the florist to the band, is a separate line, and the budget calculator will add them to the hire once you have the quotes.

Reading the record carefully

Two things in the venue's record deserve a flag. The first is a small difference in the bed count: the price note and the accommodation line both say 30, while the package text refers to accommodation for up to 32 guests. The difference may be a sofa bed or a family room counted differently, but ask which applies before you draw up the rooming list. The second is that the record lists no ceremony settings and no separate ceremony capacity; only the reception is stated, at 30 to 100 guests. The venue is not listed as licensed for marriage either. None of that means you cannot hold a ceremony on the estate, only that the venue has not published where, so it is one of the first questions to put to them.

Who the 30 beds are for

The accommodation is described as superior suites with garden views, quadruple rooms and family rooms, which tells you the property was built as a small hotel rather than a single house. Quadruple and family rooms suit a guest list with children, and the venue lists a children's play area, child-friendly facilities and disabled access. For a wedding of 100, the 30 beds cover the couple, parents, siblings and the wedding party, and the remaining guests use the venue's hotel recommendation list for rooms in La Selva del Camp, Reus or along the Costa Dorada. For a wedding of 30 or so, everyone is on site and the weekend becomes the celebration.

Between the events, guests have a saline water pool with Balinese beds, an orchard and free bicycles, and the venue lists yoga among its experiences. The record also notes that the property generates its own energy and runs on renewable power and ecological products, which is why it sits in our sustainable collection. For couples whose guest list cares about that, it is a fact to put on the invitation. Our guide to three-day wedding weekends covers how to shape a Friday to Sunday booking like this one.

Why the hire suits a list between 30 and 100

The hire is fixed from Friday to Sunday whether 30 or 100 guests come on the Saturday, so the venue's cost per guest halves and halves again as the list grows towards the ceiling. That makes Mas del Sord better value at 100 than at 40 on the hire alone, though the catering moves the other way and the beds cover a smaller share of the list. The record's minimum of 30 is also the number of beds, which is a tidy way of saying the smallest wedding the venue takes is one where everyone sleeps on site. For lists that stop at 100, our guide to venues for 100 guests compares the Spanish estates that are most comfortable at that size.

The valley, the coast and the mountains

Mas del Sord is in the Tarragona end of Catalonia, in a mountain valley near La Selva del Camp. The venue puts Barcelona Airport at 98 km, and the record describes the property as within reach of the Costa Dorada coves and the Prades Mountain Natural Park. By straight line the nearest airport in our list is Reus (REU), about 12 km away. Reus airport is the local option and takes seasonal flights from Britain and Ireland, which for a wedding in the summer months can save guests the drive down the coast from Barcelona. Car parking is on site, and the venue describes itself as pet friendly.

Four Catalan estates priced as a weekend

The venues below also publish a hire that covers a stay for a house party of between 14 and 32, for weddings of similar size. The figures are the venues' own; two of them publish catering per head, which Mas del Sord does not.

Mas del Sord is the most expensive of the five on hire, and the only one that is a working eco-hotel with suites and family rooms rather than a converted house.

The Barcelona wedding cost guide reads every priced venue in the region the same way, and venues by budget bands the whole collection by starting price.

Is Mas del Sord the right venue?

Choose it if you want a Friday to Sunday wedding with up to 100 guests, 30 of them sleeping on site in hotel-style rooms, in a valley rather than on the coast, and with a low-impact property that can say honestly how it is powered. It suits families with children, guests who like a pool and a bicycle more than a nightclub, and couples who are glad to choose their own caterer. The hire of €8,000 sits in the middle of the Catalan weekend-with-beds band, and the fixed figure rewards a full list.

Look elsewhere if you need a venue with its ceremony settings and its licence written down, or a guest list over 100. The full collection shows every venue's capacity, beds and price side by side, and asking about dates at Mas del Sord through us costs nothing.
