How much does a wedding at Mas Torroella cost?

Mas Torroella is a 14th-century manor house on the Costa Brava whose published wedding price, €14,500, includes a three-night stay for 30 guests, the annex cottage and the Events Hall. It is a package price with no food inside it, for a house that takes 200 and runs late with no curfew. This guide reads the figure as the venue publishes it, spreads it across the guest list and the beds, and compares it with four other Catalan estates that price with the nights in.

The package, not the day rate

The first thing to know about Mas Torroella is that its published starting price of €14,500 is a stay, not a day. The venue's own note on the figure says it includes a three-night stay for 30 guests, and the fuller description of the package explains the shape: weekend bookings run three nights, midweek bookings run four, and both include the rental of the main house, the rental of the annex cottage and use of the Events Hall. Between the two buildings there are 11 suites and beds for 30.

So what the money buys is a restored Catalan manor across three floors, a second house beside it, an indoor hall for the dinner or the dancing, and the grounds, with full exclusivity and no music curfew for the length of the stay. The on-site list is long for a private house: a large swimming pool, an interior spa, a Finnish sauna, a gym and a tennis court. For guests who arrive on Thursday and leave on Sunday, those are the days either side of the wedding taken care of.

What is left to add

Food. The record lists in-house catering, recommended caterers and a licensed bar, and publishes no per-head figure for any of them. That is why there is no table on this page adding the catering to the hire: there is no published rate to add. The venue quotes the menu and the bar once it knows the guest count and the style of the meal, and that quote will be the second-largest line in the budget after the package itself.

Beyond food, the usual suppliers sit outside the price, and so do any beds beyond the 30 in the two houses. The record confirms local accommodation nearby and a hotel recommendation list, which for a Costa Brava address means the hotels of the coastal villages rather than a single large hotel on the doorstep. A supplier list is offered too, and a bridal changing room, car parking and disabled access are all noted.

Spreading €14,500 across the list

With no catering figure to work with, the most honest sums are the ones that divide the package by the people it serves. Two divisions matter. The first is by wedding guests, because the price is fixed whether 80 or 200 people come to the dinner. The second is by sleepers, because the three nights for 30 are a large part of what the money buys.

80 wedding guests · package €14,500 €181 a guest
120 wedding guests · package €14,500 €121 a guest
200 wedding guests · package €14,500 €73 a guest
30 guests staying 3 nights · package €14,500 €483 a sleeper

Read the two together and the venue's economics are clear. For a full list of 200 the package is a modest venue cost per guest before food; for the 30 who sleep there it is a three-night house party with a wedding in the middle. The couples it suits are the ones who value both halves. A couple with a list of 80 who want nobody staying over is paying for beds they will not use, and would do better with a day-hire masía.

Eleven suites, two houses, 30 beds

The main house and the annex cottage sleep 30 between them across 11 suites. That is enough for the couple, both families and the closest friends, and it is the group that gets the pool, the spa, the sauna and the tennis court for three days rather than one. The rest of a 200-strong list stays along the coast and arrives for the wedding day. The venue's experiences list includes wine tasting, yoga, spa and tennis, which reads as a programme for the resident 30 as much as a list of add-ons.

If the stay matters more than the scale, the three-day wedding weekend guide gathers the Spanish houses built around the long weekend, and the venues with accommodation guide lists the ones with more beds than this.

Ceremony settings and the legal position

Two settings are listed: the gardens, which the venue says can hold up to 300, and the Events Hall, which is inside the package and gives a wet-weather option without a marquee. The ceremony capacity is stated as 200, from a minimum of one, and the reception from 20 to 200. Mas Torroella is not listed as licensed for marriage, which in practice changes little for a foreign couple: most non-residents cannot hold the binding civil ceremony in Spain in any case, and hold a symbolic one in the gardens with the legal paperwork done at home. Our guide to getting married in Spain explains the options.

Getting to the Costa Brava

By straight line the nearest airport is Girona (GRO), about 29 km away. The venue describes itself as a short drive from the beaches of the Costa Brava, and the record gives no road distances, so ask for transfer times when you enquire. Barcelona's airport offers more routes and a longer drive; Girona is the local one. Car parking is on site, which matters when 200 guests arrive by hire car.

Four other estates with the nights inside the price

The comparisons below are Barcelona-region venues whose published price also carries a stay, chosen for a similar scale rather than a similar postcode. They sit either side of €14,500 and take a different view of how much of the price should be beds and how much should be the day.

Hotel Castell d'Emporda, in the same corner of Catalonia, publishes €25,000 with two nights for 40 and the food inside the price, sleeps 130 and takes 200; it is the choice for a couple who want the whole list under one roof and the catering settled up front. Casa Nova Estate near Sitges is €12,750 with three nights of hire and accommodation for 21, takes 250, and publishes catering from €110 and drinks from €75 a head. El Serral Hotel is €12,500 with two nights for 28, takes 250 and caters from €140. Can Riera de la Pineda is €9,500 with two nights for 18 and takes up to 350. Against all four, Mas Torroella's distinguishing figures are the three nights for 30, the spa and sauna, and the absence of a curfew.

For the region as a whole, the Barcelona wedding cost guide reads every published figure the same way, and venues by budget places them in bands. To build a total from your own numbers, the budget calculator adds food, drink and suppliers to a package like this one.

Who should book it

Mas Torroella is for a couple with a long guest list and a short list of people they want to wake up with: 200 at the dinner, 30 in the house, three or four nights on the Costa Brava with no neighbour to tell the band to stop. It rewards couples who will use the pool, the spa and the tennis court, and who are comfortable with the food being quoted rather than printed. If the list is nearer 70 and the nights are the point, the smaller three-night houses near Sitges cost about the same with more of the price in the beds. The full collection sets every venue's figures side by side, and an enquiry through us costs nothing.

Questions couples ask us

What does a wedding at Mas Torroella start from?

The published starting price is €14,500 for 2027 to 2028, and it includes a three-night stay for 30 guests across the main house and the annex cottage, together with use of the Events Hall. Midweek packages run to four nights.

Is catering included in the €14,500?

No. The estate offers in-house catering and recommended caterers, but no per-head rate is published, so the food and the bar are quoted on top of the package once the venue knows your guest count and menu.

How many guests can Mas Torroella hold?

Up to 200 for a wedding, with the ceremony taking from one guest and the reception from 20. The venue states that its gardens can hold up to 300 for a standing celebration.

Is there a music curfew?

No. The venue states full exclusivity with no music curfew, which is one of the main reasons couples choose it over houses closer to a town.
