How much does a wedding at This Must Be The Place cost?

This Must Be The Place is an 18th-century farmhouse at Moià with three conjoined barns and a view to the Pyrenees, and it publishes a from-price of €6,250 for one day of the event spaces plus two nights for 12. In-house catering is the big line at €163 a head, with drinks from €23, so the hire is a fraction of the final bill. This guide works the record's figures through at three guest counts and compares the farmhouse with the other two-night venues near Barcelona.

How the price is built

The published starting price at This Must Be The Place is €6,250, and the venue describes what it buys in plain terms: one day's hire of all the event spaces, two nights of accommodation, and the team to hold your hand when you need it. The spaces are the point of the venue. Three double-height stone barns have been joined so that dinner and dancing run under one roof, and around them are courtyards, gardens and the two outdoor ceremony settings. Full exclusivity is standard, and there is no curfew on the party.

The hire looks modest for a venue that takes 180, and it is, because the record's food figure carries the weight. In-house catering starts at €163 per head, the highest published per-head figure among the Barcelona houses on this site, and drinks packages start at €23 per head. The minimum guest count for both ceremony and reception is 30, so the catering line is never small.

Three guest counts, worked from the record

Each row adds the hire to the catering at 50, 100 and the maximum of 180. The €23 drinks package is left out so you can add it at your own head count, and so are nights beyond the two, suppliers and transport.

50 guests · hire €6,250 + catering €8,150 €14,400
100 guests · hire €6,250 + catering €16,300 €22,550
180 guests · hire €6,250 + catering €29,340 €35,590

At 50 guests the hire and the food are of a similar order. At 180 the food is several times the hire. That shape rewards a couple who have decided that the dinner and the party are where the money should go, and it is the reverse of a venue that charges a large fixed hire and lets you bring a cheaper caterer. If the list is nearer 100, our guide to venues for 100 guests reads the whole collection at that size.

The 2027 offer

The record carries a stated 20% discount on the remaining April and May 2027 dates. Applied to the hire alone that is a modest saving; whether it applies to the catering is a question for the enquiry, and the answer changes the arithmetic a great deal. Spring in the Catalan hills is also the season when the view from La Feixa to the Pyrenees is at its clearest, so the discounted months are not a consolation prize.

Sleeping twelve, and where the rest go

The main house has four ensuite guest rooms on its ground and lower ground floors, sleeping up to 12, and the two nights in the price are for those rooms. For a wedding of 100 or more, that is the couple and a handful of family on site; everyone else books in Moià and the villages around it, using the venue's hotel recommendation list. The minimum stay is two nights, so there is a night before and a night after the wedding to use the courtyards and gardens without 180 people in them.

Because the beds are few, this is not a house-party venue in the way that a mansion sleeping 50 is. It is a party venue with a place for the couple to wake up. Couples who want the whole list under one roof should read the accommodation guide before enquiring here.

Three places to say the vows

The record names three ceremony settings. L'Era is a planted outdoor space framed by a stone wall and a triangular arch. La Feixa is open ground beyond the barns with the panoramic view across the hills to the Pyrenees. And the conjoined barns themselves are the choice when you want to be under a roof, whether for the weather or the design. The venue is not listed as licensed for marriage, so couples hold a symbolic ceremony here and complete the legal formalities at home, which is in any case what most non-resident foreign couples do in Spain. Our guide to getting married in Spain explains why.

An hour from two airports

By straight line the nearest airport is Girona (GRO), about 57 km away. The venue puts itself roughly an hour by road from both Barcelona and Girona Costa Brava airports, which gives a guest list arriving from several countries a choice of flights. Moià sits in the Catalan hills, so the last part of the drive is country road, and there is car parking on site. Disabled access is listed, as are a bridal changing room, a sound system and a supplier list.

Other two-night venues near Barcelona for a big list

The four venues below also publish a hire that carries two nights, and each takes 180 or more. The beds in the price range from 14 to 28, and only two of them publish a catering figure.

  • Castellnou de Bages · Barcelona

    Mas Bosc

    up to 180 guests · sleeps 20 · 2-night minimum · from €6,500

  • Masllorenç · Barcelona

    Masia Cabellut

  • Santa Margarida i els Monjos · Barcelona

    El Serral Hotel

    up to 250 guests · sleeps 28 · 2-night minimum · from €12,500 · catering €140 a head

Mas Bosc is the nearest on price and size: €6,500 with two nights for 20, up to 180 guests, on a hilltop an hour from Barcelona, with no catering figure published. Masia Cabellut is €7,000 with two nights for 14, takes 200, caters from €120 and publishes drinks from €80, with no curfew. Can Riera de la Pineda is €9,500 with two nights for 18 and a three-hour open bar, inside a natural park near Arbúcies. El Serral Hotel is €12,500 with two nights for 28, takes 250, caters from €140 with drinks from €25, and is licensed for marriage. Against that group, This Must Be The Place has the lowest hire and the highest catering, which is a deliberate trade: the venue's own kitchen does the food, and the price of the barns reflects that.

The Barcelona wedding cost guide reads every priced venue in the region, venues by budget groups the collection into bands, and the budget calculator adds drinks, suppliers and transport to figures like these at your own guest count.

Who should book it

This Must Be The Place is for a couple with a list of 30 to 180 who care about the look of the room they eat and dance in, who want the night to run as late as it likes, and who are happy to spend on the dinner because the venue's kitchen is doing it. It is for a one-day wedding with a quiet night either side, not a three-day house party, and it is not the place for the whole list to sleep. If the hire-to-food balance is wrong for you, Mas Bosc and Masia Cabellut flip it. The full collection puts every venue's figures side by side, and an enquiry through us goes straight to the venue at no cost.
